With tracks that are lined up by native flora the entire area was classified by the European Commission as a Special Area of Conservation and part of the Natura 2000 network. For those who  enjoy the pleasures of what nature has to offer we have Caldeira Velha an amazing warm waterfall flowing to a natural swimming pool were you can enjoy a dive (don't forget to bring your swimsuit and towel) surrounded by a luxurious vegetation! After a rejuvenating bath head out on an alternative trail to Ribeira Grande before returning to Ponta Delgada.
